Mebius & Parametric benches for business center lobby (Google office)
The Mebius and parametric benches installed in a business center lobby in Singapore create a strong spatial focus within a corporate environment. Lobbies are transitional spaces, but they carry significant symbolic weight. They are the first interior impression for tenants, visitors and clients. In this project, the benches help transform the lobby from a purely functional waiting area into a place with character, warmth and recognizable design value.
The forms are defined by layered ribs, deep curves and a sculptural profile that changes depending on the viewer's position. The Mebius geometry introduces a sense of continuity and movement, while the parametric bench provides a broader seating surface with a softer lounge-like presence. Together, they create a composition that supports short meetings, waiting, informal conversation and visual orientation. The objects are useful, but they also act as architectural anchors within the interior.
The material language is important. Warm wood brings a tactile counterpoint to the glass, stone and polished finishes often found in business centers. The ribbed construction produces shadows that shift throughout the day, adding subtle variation to an otherwise controlled corporate setting. This makes the furniture feel alive without becoming visually noisy.
