Qessence

Qessence is a unique parametric bar counter created for the Qsense / QuintesSense resource state center as part of an architectural interior project by Dseesion Interiors. The object was designed for an oxygen bar, where furniture had to do more than provide a service surface. It needed to become a visual center of the room, hold equipment, organize the guest experience, and express the atmosphere of a wellness-oriented interior.

The bar counter is suspended between columns, giving the object a light and almost floating spatial role despite its complex construction. The main body is made from MDF and contains the technical equipment and oxygen cylinders required for the oxygen bar. This functional layer is hidden inside and below the counter, while the visible facade is formed by a large single-cast transparent resin element shaped like a drop or shell. The resin piece creates the convex front of the bar and also wraps over the countertop, turning the work surface and facade into one continuous sculptural gesture.

The project was developed through parametric design methods. The flowing drop-shaped geometry, the relationship to the columns, the facade curvature, and the tabletop cover were resolved digitally before fabrication. Digital fabrication was essential: the mold for casting the transparent resin was CNC-cut from MDF, allowing the complex surface to be produced with precision. The resin drop weighs approximately 300 kg, which makes the project not only visually delicate but also technically demanding. Its transparent body gives the counter depth, reflection, and a sense of suspended mass, while the MDF structure provides the hidden functional core.
